Teppanyaki Dontoko Hatchobori is located in Hatchobori in the Naka-ku district of Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture. This restaurant is famous for its teppanyaki, dishes grilled on sizzling iron plates. Here, guests can gain an appreciation for the true savory flavors and fragrances of the ingredients, prepared without relying on excessive seasoning to deliver flavor. Ingredients, such as meats, fishes and vegetables, are carefully selected based on what is available each day, and the grilling and seasoning methods are adjusted to match. In addition to the carefully-prepared dishes, there is also a selection of spirits, including wines and sakes, on offer. Enjoy ambience of the chefs skillfully preparing your food on the grill right before your eyes.
Both our tenderloin and our chateaubriand steaks are stringently selected by our chefs from Japanese Black Wagyu Beef of rank A5 only from Hiroshima and Miyazaki Prefectures. The technique of the chef plays a large role in the flavor of the dish. We are rare among teppanyaki restaurants in that we specialize in the technique of grilling on a mesh at relatively low temperatures. We also adjust our grilling techniques to the characteristics of the steak in order to bring out the best possible flavor. We see a steady stream of guests from both within Japan and overseas who come for the tenderness and the rich, concentrated savory flavor of our Wagyu Beef.
When it comes to famous Hiroshima dishes, oysters and Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki may be the most recognized, but there is another lesser-known gem: the cut of beef locally known as the “kone.” Normally known as the brisket, this cut is available only in a small amount from each head of cattle. We grill it quickly and stick with simple seasoning to allow you to enjoy its savory, melt-in-your-mouth flavor.
Makes a great appetizer. This salad is made from a potato roasted whole on the grill. The starch of the potato combines exquisitely with the accent of the thick-cut bacon.
For teppanyaki, the counter seats are the best place to watch the action.
Dishes are prepared to match the dining paces of the guests.
Watching the food being prepared right in front of your eyes is a form of true entertainment.
It will surely be one of the memorable experiences from your time in Japan.
This restaurant is popular with guests from overseas for its delicious teppanyaki dishes. English menus are available so that guests from overseas can fully enjoy the dishes and spirits available. Please feel free to let the staff know if you would like an English menu.
